On September 30, 2020, the 100 series ended on the CW with the last episode of season 7. The end of a long saga for the series started by Jason Rothenberg. But, as we understood a few months ago, there is a prequel on the program. The idea? Take back the universe of the 100, but much earlier, more precisely 97 years ago, on an earth that was just hit by nuclear war. Contrary to some rumors, the prequel has not yet been 100% confirmed, but the case is moving forward.
The 100, a number under discussion
This is a sensitive issue for the CW. The 100 series was a real hit. By finishing the program with a very suitable 100 episode count, she managed to finish the story in style. However, just like the Green Arrow series spin-off, this has not yet been confirmed as the broadcaster is partly concerned about damaging the series’ legacy.
Especially with the coronavirus pandemic, the CW, like all other channels, already has many problems to solve, especially due to disrupted shooting schedules. But Jason Rothenberg managed to keep the flame alive (fans will have got the reference.
We are in the middle of a waiting period while those responsible have to decide. The good news is that the discussions are still ongoing. This is good news for me. The project still has a pulse.
Given the schedule shifts caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we already know that some important programs like Legends of Tomorrow or Supergirl will postpone their return to the screen for a few months. Mechanically, there is therefore less space on the antenna. It will therefore be necessary to be patient for the moment.
