After a cabinet reshuffle, the new Polish Minister of Education and Science is a man who believes that LGBT + people “are not the same as normal people” and has compared the queer community to the Nazis.
On Wednesday, September 30th, the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented his newly organized cabinet and made Przemyslaw Czarnek Minister of Education and Science.
In June of this year, Czarnek said on a live TV show: “Let’s defend the family against this kind of corruption, depravity and utterly immoral behavior, defend ourselves against the LGBT + ideology and stop listening to this nonsense. About human rights or equality.
“These people are not the same as normal people, let’s end this discussion.”
On the same show after Polish newsHe added, “Let’s end the discussion on these LGBT + atrocities, homosexuality, bisexuality and parades of equality.”
Czarnek, a MP for the ruling Law and Justice Party (PiS), has also previously compared being strange to being a Nazi.
He said: “There is no doubt that the LGBT + ideology arose from the same roots as Hitler’s German National Socialism, which was responsible for all the evil of World War II.”
It is estimated that between 10 and 15,000 gay men were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust.
The leader of the viciously anti-LGBT + party for Law and Justice is now Polish Deputy Prime Minister.
The cabinet reshuffle also resulted in the appointment of Jaroslaw Kaczynski as Polish Deputy Prime Minister.
The 71-year-old Kaczynski was previously Prime Minister of the country between 2006 and 2007 and then became chairman of the ruling PiS party, which he co-founded in 2001.
As party leader, he has repeatedly positioned LGBT + people as a threat to so-called traditional values in Poland.
In August 2019, Kaczynski knocked on the pride parades and told voters: “The hard offensive, this traveling theater that shows up in different cities to provoke and then cry … we are the ones who suffer, it has to be exposed and thrown away . “”
He also promised to use the law in full to “regulate these matters” but did not explain what he meant by it.
This rhetoric has led more than 80 local and local governments to proclaim themselves “free from LGBT + ideology”, a move strongly condemned by the European Parliament.
After the reshuffle, there is only one woman in the Polish government. She is Minister for Family and Social Policy.
