During the official competition for the third edition of CANNESERIES (October 9-14, 2020), the first two episodes of the Belgian-Dutch co-production “Red Light” (ten) will be presented as a world premiere.
In “Red Light” Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones), Halina Reijn (Instinct) and Maaike Neuville (The Twelve) play three women from very different backgrounds whose lives mix in unexpected ways. Sylvia is a prostitute who runs a brothel in collaboration with her formidable pimp, who is also her lover. Esther is a famous soprano from an upscale family. And Evi is a police officer who tries to combine her very exciting job with her family life. When Esther’s husband goes missing, they meet and all three struggle with the world of prostitution and human trafficking between Amsterdam and Antwerp. Weak, they have to rely on each other to get out of the situation in which they are locked.
